What alpin.studio is – and is not

alpin.studio is a tool for preparing individual mountain tours. It is not a mountain guide, not training, not a navigation device and not a weather forecast for your tour. It replaces neither alpine experience nor a mountain school, an alpine club course or a certified guide.

Your own responsibility

Mountaineering and mountain hiking carry risks that remain even with the best preparation: falls, rockfall, sudden weather changes, thunderstorms, snow and ice, exhaustion, losing the way. You alone decide whether, when and with whom you go, and you are responsible for your safety and that of your companions.

No guarantee for the information

All content is compiled carefully from public sources (alpine clubs, mountain rescue, huts, lift operators, national parks) with source and date. Still, information may be outdated, incomplete or wrong. Trails, closures, opening hours, prices and timetables change. Times and difficulty ratings are indicative. Liability for accuracy, completeness and timeliness is excluded as far as legally permitted.

Weather rules are not a forecast

The weather rules in each mountain pack are general decision rules. They never say "safe" or "good weather". Before every tour, check the official mountain weather report and the current conditions on site. With thunderstorm risk, snow or ice on the route, strong wind or poor visibility: do not go, or turn around.

Before every tour
